We spoke to the energetic Bridget Paddon, founder of Goal Diggers NZ and Goal Diggers NZ Clothing, and got the low down on coaching, motivation, and daily smoothies.

Tell us a typical day in your life.

A typical day in my life starts with an early morning walk to get the blood pumping, wake me up and it gives me a chance to set my intentions for the day. That will be followed up with my go-to breakfast of bacon, eggs, and avocado (I’m going to miss these, they’re my favourite!) My working day is then filled with coaching my amazing clients by phone or in person, corresponding with various people, businesses and brands to align GDNZ with like-minded people, creating social media content and keeping up with an online presence as well as managing our clothing line, GDNZ Clothing. Each day is a huge day but I love it! I also get in a sweat sesh every afternoon and work on my own personal goals throughout the day as well.

What’s your favourite way to take your Adashiko?

My favourite way to take my Adashiko is in my smoothies!! I actually have two smoothies a day, a green smoothie mid-morning and a protein smoothie after my training in the afternoon. Too easy!! I pop in my Adashiko along with my other natural supplements and the thing about Adashiko is you don’t even know it’s in there as it doesn’t have a taste.

What benefits have you noticed since taking Adashiko?

So many! My favourite benefit is how Adashiko helps with muscle repair, it’s my go-to recovery supplement for my training. I rarely get sore muscles anymore, I haven’t had an injury for months (touch wood) and I put it down to Adashiko. One other hugely noticeable benefit is how Adashiko helps support strong nails! When I was away from home travelling around the South Island for three weeks I struggled to fit in daily smoothies, most days I wouldn’t even get one in. I came home with very weak nails with those pesky white patches covering them. I’ve been back for a couple of weeks taking Adashiko daily again and they’re back to being strong and growing faster than I can handle (I like having my nails shorts!)

Aside from Adashiko, what else do you take to support your healthy lifestyle?

Like I mentioned above I use a 100% natural protein powder in my smoothies. I take a magnesium supplement as well as evening primrose oil.

How did you get into coaching?

There was no defining point where I was like, DING, I want to be a life coach. I was teaching full time and loved studying new things, I came across the Diploma in Professional Coaching course and enrolled straight away with the intention of learning a few things to help along my own personal development journey as well as ideas and tools that could cross over into teaching. There were four practical papers and as soon as I started working one on one with my practice coaching clients I just knew it was something I wanted to be doing. The last paper in the course was an introduction to how to start your own coaching business, and here I am!

What are the benefits of working with a life coach?

I’ve officially titled myself a Goals, Growth and Fulfilment Coach because people, myself included, really struggle with the title of ‘life coach’ and it carries a lot of unknowns as well as a stigma. There are too many benefits to list! The two most important would be being given the coaching, tools, guidance and support to get from where you are right now (in any area) to where you want to be as well as having someone holding you accountable 24/7 so that you’ve got someone else on your team knowing exactly what you’re working towards and what you need to be doing to get there.

What are your top tips for staying motivated?

My top tip for staying motivated would be kind to yourself because we can’t be motivated all day every day. If you’re not feeling up to a task, physically, mentally or spiritually, then either don’t do it or only complete some of it. I find that when I push myself when I’m not motivated, what I produce is poor quality and I end up having to spend more time on it than usual. Also, love yourself, put yourself first and make time for the things you love, so when you’re working on those mediocre tasks you can be super productive knowing that you’re balancing that out with the things you love as well.
